About Amanda
.jpg) | My affiliation with the International House of Prayer in Kansas City began in September of 2003, as an intern with Fire in the Night. After spending six months of intense fasting and prayer, seeking the Lord in the night, I am now on staff as an intercessory missionary. Having grown up in a solid Christian family, I have always been involved in the work of God. My ministry has involved several different venues through the years; I have experience in children’s ministry and prayer ministry. I also have ministered through writing articles, worshipping through poetry and the dance, and participating various outreaches to the community. My vision is to continue to spend long hours before the Lord in prayer (intercession, worship, devotion, and study), as well as to begin to enter in my calling to awaken love in the hearts of worshippers of God. Currently, I am involved in several different areas at the IHOP-KC. My primary responsibilities are as a full-time missionary in the Night Watch, which means that I spend my primary hours in the Prayer Room between midnight and six a.m. I am firstly and foremostly an intercessory, agreeing with the heart of God for Kansas City, for this nation, and for the earth. |
I am a member of Clay Edwards' worship team on the Night Watch. We currently do six sets a week between the hours of 10:00pm and 6:00am. I play flute for the team, and I am also a prayer leader on the team (see topmost photo). IHOP's intercession sets have an open-mic prayer format; my job as a prayer leader is to facilitate the intercessors and help direct the prayer meeting. I currently play flute on one set a week, and prayer lead or associate prayer lead five sets a week.
Recently, I have begun working with the Global Equipping Center as an online tutor. My role is to help students from all over the world as they learn about the Excellencies of Christ. I answer questions, enter grades, and help ensure that our students get the best learning experience possible out of their studies. As a graduate of the Forerunner School of Ministry, I love being able to serve their online wing in this way.
