Amanda Beattie Ministry Updates

If you’ll remember from previous news updates, IHOP-KC has launched a second prayer room, called the Justice Prayer Room (JPR). It’s a much smaller facility, designed to be a training ground for new singers, musicians, prayer leaders and worship leaders. My team has picked up one set a week at the JPR on Wednesday mornings, 4-6am. We head over there and do a Worship with the Word. It’s been good for our group singers to step up into a more primary role, and for our musicians to practice different instruments than they usually play with us. Right now I prayer lead for it, but the aim is that soon I will be playing my flute with them.
My work with the e-school is going well. Most of what I do is checking up with students on their assignments, enter grades, and answer questions. I’m glad to serve the school in this way.

My most exciting news in the school department is that I am on a track to begin teaching full, real, live, in-person classes here at IHOP. It’s still a year or two out, so I will update you all when it gets closer. I’m hoping to teach either the book of Daniel, or the Minor Prophets… or anything, really. I have been feeling a draw in my heart to teach for a while now, and I’m ecstatic that it’s actually on its way to happening.

For the time being, I’ve assumed a new position on my worship team. I’m continuing to prayer lead and play flute, but I am now also the team administrator. Basically this means I get to help wrangle some of the practical things that need to get done before every set. Mostly that involves keeping track of our in-ear headphone monitors and microphone windscreens, but I help Clay out with some paperwork, too.

So that’s it for now. Change is coming, the Lord is doing good things, and I’m glad to be able to serve here however I can.
